Photo Contest 2008
The Global Education Office is sponsoring a photo contest during the fall 2008 for study abroad students. The contest includes three different categories:
- Portraits (people & animals),
- Landscapes (architecture, natural beauty), and
- Cross Cultural Moments (culture events, interaction with host culture, defining moments).
Eligibility
To take part in this contest you must currently be registered as a student at SUNY Plattsburgh and have previously completed a SUNY study abroad program. This includes full-semester and short term (5-14 days) programs.
Prizes
- Grand Prize - IPod
- Gift Certificates of $50 for each category
Submitting an Entry
- You must complete the entry form.
- Download the 2008 Photo Contest Form. Note: this 27Kb PDF file requires the latest version of Acrobat Reader, which is available as a free download.
- Photo must be sent to pashowle@plattsburgh.edu.
- Digital images should resolution of 300 dpi or higher.
- Please label photos in the following format:
Country_YourLastName_Number.jpg
Example: Spain_Smith_1.jpg - A maximum of four photos may be entered.
Criteria
- Photos must be from a SUNY study abroad experience.
- Photos must be original work from the participant.
- Photos may be color or black and white but must be submitted digitally.
- Deadline: Entries must be received no later than 4:30pm on October 24, 2008 at the Study Abroad Office.
Announcement from the Global Education Office
All faculty and staff are invited to an update on Study Abroad at SUNY Plattsburgh and an open meeting about the proposed mission and goals for Study Abroad developed by the committee shown below. The meeting will be held this Thursday September 18, 2008 at 3 PM in the Cardinal Lounge of the Angel College Center.
Please note the Global Education Office will be receiving comments on the proposed mission and goals until Friday October 10, 2008.Send comments or questions about the proposed mission and goals of study abroad to Dr. Bryan Higgins, Director of International Education at higginbr@plattsburgh.edu.
