Awards given to Sociology majors
The following awards are given annually to Sociology or Criminal Justice majors.
James Mapstone Prize for Outstanding Research Paper in Sociology/Criminal Justice
The James Mapstone Prize for Outstanding Research Paper in Sociology/Criminal Justice is given to the sociology or criminal justice major who writes the best paper in a Plattsburgh State SOC-prefix course during the academic year.

Brooks C. Anderson Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement in Sociology
The Brooks C. Anderson Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement in Sociology is given to the graduating senior with the highest GPA in the major.
