Assistantships

Faculty occasionally ask students to work with them as student assistants.  The students receive course credit and gain valuable experience, either as  teaching assistants who help with one of the faculty member's courses, or as research assistants who work on a research project.

Teaching Assistants

Several faculty members offer students the opportunity to serve as peer teaching assistants in their courses. These TAs help other students in the class and often assist the professor in preparing the course.

Research Assistants

All faculty are engaged in primary research, as well as teaching. Occasionally, there are opportunities for students to assist faculty in their work. Most often, such research assistantships are not paid, but they always provide an opportunity to gain important experience in research and to know the faculty better.
