The Department's B.A. program offers a study option in Art History. Students electing this option take a wide range of introductory and advanced Art History courses. Students acquire a broad knowledge of the major transitions in art from ancient times to the present, and a more in-depth concentration in the art of specific periods, such as the Renaissance or the Modern era.
In Art History courses, students study the methods, forms, and meanings of a variety of artistic media within the social and historical contexts of the periods in which the art was produced. Students may also participate in off-campus field trips to visit museums such as those in Montreal or New York City.
